Anniversary Dinner

This is a picture recently donated to the ASCY showing the Anniversary Dinner of 1933. The Master at the time was Frederick Moses Mitchell. He was born on 29th September 1878 in Southwick, near Brighton, Sussex. He married (for the second time) on 17th April, 1922 in Reading to Ethel Muriel Goodshire, who was the founder member of the Ladies Guild. They set up home in Gravesend, Kent. He was Secretary of the Kent County Association of Change Ringers for 25 years and Master of the ASCY in 1932-3. He died in Gravesend on 4th May 1960. A plaque to his memory is in the church of Ss Peter & Paul, Milton, Gravesend, where he used to ring.
