sorts of city dignitaries, including of course, some Pearly Kings and Queens (the
traditional dress of the Cockneys, i.e. those born within the sound of Bow Bells). Here
the Master was photographed with them and another livery gentleman. |

Record
Length of London S Royal No. 3 |

|
An amazing
achievement: a succesful handbell peal of 25,560 London S. Royal No. 3. This is the
longest peal in the method and the longest peal on more than 8 bells yet rung in hand. The
peal took place on 23rd Nov. Pictured here (l-r) are the ringers John Hughes-D'Aeth, David
Pipe, David Brown, Alex Byrne, Mark Regan and the composer, Jim Clatworthy. The full story
from Mark Regan will appear here shortly. |

St
Mary Woolnoth |

|
The Society
were asked to provide ringing for the Annual Thanksgiving Service at St Mary Woolnoth in
the City of London on 28th Nov. This was quite unusual as there are only 3 bells in the
tower! After experiencing some plain hunt (which you can hear here),
the ringers elected to swing chime for the rest of the session. The ringers were David
Baverstock, Paul Carless and Dickon Love, picture here. You can
read more about these bells and see more pictures on the Church Bells of London Woolnoth page.
