ASCY 12 BELL STRIKING COMPETITION
Saturday 21st May, 2005

| On Saturday 21st May the Society held a 12
bell competition for bands of members from around the country. The venue for
the competition was Evesham, where the famous Bell Tower has hosted many a great day of
competition ringing. The format of the competition was slightly different to that used for the National 12 Bell Striking Contest. It was run as a knock out, with pairs of bands ringing against each other in each round, judged by a panel made up of other band members. The test piece for the four quarter finals was two courses of Stedman Cinques, half a course of Cambridge Maximus then tested the four bands in the semi finals, and then the two remaining bands rang seven leads of Bristol Maximus in the final. The band represented Birmingham won this
competition, so congratulations go to them. The full results were as follows: |
