On 11th January, the Immediate Past Master (Colin Newman) organised a dinner at the Hop Cellars, Southwark, in honour of Phil Roger's six years as Secretary of the Society. A large number of members and friends of the Society were present to congratulate Phil, express their appreciation for all his work, and offer their thanks to Gwen for her support. A quartet comprising Michele Ellender, George Brown, John Hughes-D'Aeth and Simon Linford sang about Phil's years in office to Anglican Chant, which can be downloaded here (3.8MB). John White also spoke of the Society that he (as the new Master) and Phil (as the new Secretary) inherited and reminded everyone how the Society had changed since then. Phil responded by thanking everyone and indicated his optimism for the future. (All photos by the Web Master.) |
... but instead a review of the past 6 years is delivered, in Anglican Chant. Hear it here (3.8MB). | John White delivers his tribute to Phil's work. |
